Feb.01.2010
Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) President, Leslie Figaro, has
extended condolences on behalf of the TTRFU to Rowell Gordon, a TTRFU Youth
Development Officer (YDO) and Harvard Club Championship Division rugby
team Vice Captain, on the death of his father Roland Gordon.
The elder Gordon, 57, Chief Judge of the Soca Monarch competition, musical
director and arranger succumbed to a stroke at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences
Complex on Friday. He was Musical Director of the Amantes de Parranda parang
group, as well as the Malick Folk Performing Group. He was also a music
facilitator with the Ministry of Education. His sudden illness and subsequent death
has shocked the T&T cultural and entertainment fraternity.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rowell and his family. Mr Gordon's
contribution to culture and entertainment is significant. His sudden passing will
leave a void in the cultural landscape of T&T. Rowell has our support during
these difficult times." said Figaro.
