T&T's Mowser certifed as referee educator
Trinidad and Tobago's Paul Mowser has been re-accredited as an International Rugby Board(IRB) Referee Educator.
IRB policy requires re certification every three years.
Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Union(TTRFU)Vice President Leslie Figaro extended congratulations to Mr.Mowser ."Education and training is an important aspect of our strategy and having Paul certified ensures that the TTRFU''s referee development objectives will be met".
Mowser ,a former national rugby player is one of the top local referees.His willingness to also take on the role of educator is an excellent example said Figaro.
The IRB Regional development Manager for North America and the West Indies(NAWIRA),Tom Jones in making the official announcement on behalf of the World governing body expressed delight that all Mexican and Caribbean candidates successfully achieved IRB Educator Status at the recent IRB Educator Courses.
Jones in extending his congratulations urged the newly certified candidates to "make the maximum use of your qualification (and the IRB's investment in you) by initiating and facilitating courses within your own Union, and by making yourself available to travel to other Member Unions in the region to share your expertise".
IRB accreditation permits educators to run
(facilitate) IRB courses and to award IRB certificates for a three year period.
