The Trinidad & Tobago Senior Men’s National 7-A-Side Rugby Team departs on Saturday, July 28, 2018, for Barranquilla, Colombia, to defend their podium place at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. Trinidad & Tobago finished third, taking the bronze medal at the last installment of the games in Vera Cruz, Mexico in 2014, so expectations are high.

Manager of the National 7s Team, Curtis Nero, veteran of the local and regional game, stated that the team has developed into a well balanced unit with a good mixture of youth and experience.

He continued, “We are well aware of the improvements made by all the teams in the Rugby Sevens category of the games and know that it will be a challenge.”

He stated, however, “We are up for the challenge as we continue to follow the success of the other sports thus far.” The Rugby Sevens category of the CAC Games will be played on August 1 and 2, 2018.

The Trinidad & Tobago fifteen (15) man squad for the 2018 CAC Games are as follows:

1. Joseph Quashie (Captain) 2. Nigel Ballington 3. Shakeel Dyte
