The Trinidad & Tobago Rugby Football Club’s (TTRFU) Sevens Series continue this weekend, November 24 & 25, 2018, with the Rainbow Sports & Cultural Club’s 7s Tournament. This tournament will take place at the Marabella Recreation Ground, Battoo Avenue, Marabella.

It is the fourth in a series of five tournaments after the Police Rugby Section’s successful 40th Anniversary 7-A-Side celebrations. The top seeds for this weekend’s tournament are Police Rugby Section and The Harvard Club, winners of the Senior Women’s and Men’s Divisions of the Police 7s Tournament respectively.

We have to commend Police Rugby Section for giving us an international twist to the series by hosting two teams from St. Lucia. The St. Lucia Rugby Football Union (SLRFU), Representative, Mr. Colvis Samuels said it was an amazing experience for their players, and they look forward to returning next year.

TTRFU President, Mr. Colin Peters, said that he would like to once again commend the Clubs on their initiative and is hopeful that this Sevens Series will evolve into an International Series that will see top Clubs and National Teams visiting Trinidad & Tobago to participate in one or more of these tournaments. It will also help with the Government’s thrust in marketing the country as a major destination in sport tourism.

Members of the media, the rugby fraternity and the public are invited to come out in their numbers and support.
