The Trinidad & Tobago Rugby Union (TTRU) is excited to announce that Trinidad and Tobago will once again host the Rugby Americas North (RAN) 7s Tournament, to be held at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima, from November 21 to 23, 2025. This marks the 2nd consecutive year that Trinidad and Tobago welcomes the region’s best Rugby talents.
The local Men’s and Women’s National Teams enter this year’s tournament with their best-ever performances in 2024. The Men’s Team returns after a thrilling 2nd place finish at last year’s tournament, coming within reach of top honours against the region’s powerhouses. The young Women’s Squad, composed of emerging stars, continues to impress as they embrace the challenge of elevating Women’s Rugby, setting the stage for even greater expectations from local fans. The TTRU anticipates an electrifying atmosphere as both teams aim to surpass last season’s achievements.
This year’s tournament coincides with increased regional participation, expanding the competition to 3 full days of thrilling action. Defending Champions, Canada (Men’s Tier 1) and México (Women’s) return, while the Women’s competition welcomes Bermuda and Guyana to the fold.
The 2025 RAN 7s features 3 divisions: Men’s Tier 1 which includes 8 teams – Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, México, and Trinidad & Tobago – battling through pool stages and knock out rounds. In Men’s Tier 2, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Curaçao, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Turks & Caicos Islands, compete for a chance at promotion to next year’s top flight. The Women’s bracket features 6 teams – Barbados, Bermuda, Guyana, Jamaica, México and Trinidad & Tobago – in an exciting round-robin format, with Guyana making their return to the 7s stage.
At stake are coveted qualification spots: bracket winners in Men’s Tier 1 and Women’s advance to the global stage as part of World Rugby’s evolved HSBC SVNS model, while the top 3 Men’s Tier 1 Teams (excluding Canada) and top 2 Women’s Teams, secure their place at the 2026 Centro Caribe Games to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The TTRU extends its thanks to Rugby Americas North, The Sports Company of Trinidad & Tobago, its partners, our National Athletes and all Participating Nations, for making this event possible.
Rugby fans across Trinidad and Tobago and the region, are invited to join the celebration and show their support.
