The St. Lucia Rugby Football Union is hosting an Inaugural Tri – Union Ruggerama Match Series, on April 10 & 11, 2026 at the Grand Riviere Playing Field, which involves the hosts St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos and Trinidad & Tobago.
The Trinidad & Tobago Men’s Under 19 National Rugby 15s Team has embarked on this pivotal preparatory tour as it marks an important step toward its ultimate objective: the 2026 Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men’s Under 19 15s Tournament, scheduled for August 2026 in Mexico.
The tour represents a significant milestone for the Men’s Under 19 National Programme, as it is the first time the team has participated in a warm-up tournament of this nature. This experience provides a valuable benchmark, offering insight into the team’s current level of performance and readiness at this stage of preparation.
The primary focus of the tour is the execution of the team’s structured training plan and established style of play. Additionally, it serves as a critical opportunity to identify areas of weakness and address them proactively ahead of regional competition. The Technical staff anticipates that the insights gained will inform targeted refinements and strategic adjustments to optimize overall performance.
The initiative has been largely self-funded by the athletes, demonstrating a strong commitment to the programme. The team has also benefited from generous contributions from members of the wider fraternity. While no official sponsorship has been secured to date, the organization welcomes prospective partners interested in supporting the team’s journey to the RAN 15s in August 2026.
Leading the National Team on tour is 18-year-old Captain Jasani Daniel, whose tactical awareness and leadership qualities have distinguished him as a key figure in elevating the team’s competitive standard.
